So, basically, every week I am going to list 5-10 SUPER AWESOME freeware games, and tell you about them etc. Because, the only thing better than a good video game, is a good video game that doesn't cost you anything, right? Right.

This "issue" will contain 5 awesome freeware games....

Banana Nababa:
By: Lazrael
Boss Fighting Game

Banana Nababa is a game made by GamingW's very own Lazrael, and is unique in that it plays like a Castlevania really, except...all you fight is bosses! Bah, those are the best parts of any game really, right?

Banana Nababa is a fantastic game, that while it might not have the best graphics, something about it just makes you want to keep trying until you win.

You need to have good coordination and reaction times, but once you figure out the bosses strategies, you're good to go.

You have 2 weapons, an axe (which works like Castlevania axes, ie: fly in an arc), and a spear, which flies straight.

You can download it at: http://lazrael.avalanchestudios.net/crap/Banana%20Nababa.zip (2.4MB)

Echoes:
By: Binary Zoo
Shoot-Em-Up

Echoes is an asteroids like game, except on crack. Yes, crack. Crap will be flying everywhere, and you need to stay alive. Play on Easy first, and work your way up with this one. You'll want to have a good reaction time, and learn the strategies to owning each enemy.

Find a configuration that works good for you, and you should be blasting away for hours on end with this one.

You can download Echoes here: http://www.binaryzoo.com/games/echoes/index.htm (8MB)

Mr. Blocko: Super Tournament Edition
By: Perfect Run
Weird Tetris-y game

Mr. Blocko is like, the best free Tetris-like game you will ever play. Unlike Tetris, you don't actually control the blocks.  Weird huh? Instead you control a guy, who pushes the blocks around, making them fall into lines. The game is fully customizable, letting you set custom rules, custom skins, etc. And if you can get a multiplayer game going, holy shit is it fun.

Try it out here: http://www.perfectrun.net/index.php?id=pageget/mrblocko (1.91MB)

Last Scenario
By: SCF
RPG

Last Scenario is a freeware RPG made in RPG Maker XP. Yeah, but don't ignore it yet! Last Scenario, while suffering from sometimes bad mapping, and a long introduction series of events, is filled to the brim with awesome storyline at the end, cool side content, a unique card game as a minigame that earns you rewards, awesome characters, and a rich experience. Sure, it isn't perfect, but what game really is? If you like RPGs, you owe it to yourself to at least give this game a try, it is obvious the maker invested a lot of hardwork to balance the game.

Babel Sword
By: TsMUGEN
Fighting Game

Yes, this game is made in MUGEN. No, this game does not suck! Whoah, what? Babel Sword is a fully original MUGEN game, that is a weird mix between shoot-em-up and fighting game. It has good graphics, good sound effects, awesome music, a nice selection of characters, and good gameplay.

You can learn more about it here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Babel_Sword
You can try it out here: http://crossing.main.jp/weblog/mugen/?target=bs (9.2MB)
Afterwards, download this and put all 3 files in your Babel Sword folder: http://www.gamingw.net/pubaccess/52136/BabelSword.rar

I hope you enjoy these games as much as I have, feel free to discuss these games, ask questions, etc in this topic, and feel free to comment as well! Next week, I'll try and post more than 5, but that really just depends on how busy I am.

Enjoy.
