Air Rivals

MMO 3D Space Shooter



Air Rivals, for all intents and purposes, is an MMO free Star Fox 64 online. It's pretty cool. The grind isn't too bad, and thankfully levels don't matter too much (a good level 20 pilot will kill terrible level 60+ pilots), so it's kinda fun. It's very....unique, in the MMO genre!

It's not for everybody tho, as its kinda fast paced and is not your generic MMO 101. It's very PvP-centric as well.

Since leveling doesn't matter much, you'll be useful even at the introductory level of PvP which is 11.

Urban Terror:

Urban Terror is a free total conversion mod of Quake 3, that doesn't require Quake 3. woot.

Its a blend of more realistic gameplay (akin to CS), with a mix of unrealism manuevers and stuff (akin to UT) in the same game. The most played game modes are Team Survivor (my fav) and CTF, but its a very solid (if initially weird) FPS.

Gunroar is a schmup that has a randomly generated landscape, and enemy shooting patterns are also randomly generated, going up in complexity as the player does well. It's your typical "try to get a high score" game, but there are various enemies and what not to make this a fun ride for a short amount of time involved.

I don't care if you don't like shoot-em-ups, this game is awesome. You're in a tube. You shoot things. Enemies shoot things. It goes very fast. It's kind of REALLY COOL and I wouldn't want to play this game while drunk/high but I bet that would be nifty.

The graphics are a mix of psychadelic/cyberpunk. The unique part of the game comes from its 2 weapons! The default weapon is a rapid fire weapon, that becomes stronger as you fire it, but it speeds you up. The other, is a charging weapon that slows you down but destroys tons of foes at once. You need to balance your use of these or else you will die.

Real Time Worms


For those who don't know, Liero was an old DOS game, that was a real time Worms, that would serve as inspiration for the game Soldat! Liero X(treme) is an unofficial sequel to Liero, which is free, has online play, allows weapon + level + model customization, and more. If you can get some friends to play it with you, it is a BLAST. It's like Worms on crack.
