The Top 100 Albums GW Never Talks About- 98. Vakill- Worst Fears Confirmed
Pidgeotto221 Pidgeotto221
Note: Last time I did this, no one handled it well and honestly it took me by complete surprise. So I'm restating this for those of you who are just surprised that an article series already taking a disparaging tone towards GW's musical audience might be equally disparaging towards music they like: This is all my opinion. That means everything in this topic, expressed in relation to this topic, and the topic itself. See the tag? It says DISCUSSION, not SAFE WORDS. If you're going to be weepy about the way someone expresses themselves, myself or anyone else who wants to post, I don't want you to post. I'd rather see interesting heated discussion about genre merits where people get angry and drop a few fucks instead of limpwristed handwringing about possibly offending some shitdribbling retard who cries when they see someone stub their toe. This is not an invitation for you to get offended and shit up my topic either. Okay, good.

98. Vakill- Worst Fears Confirmed (2006)

Vakill is not some famous rapper, underground or otherwise. He's part of a collective in Chicago called the Molemen. Chances are most hiphop people won't know Vakill or the Molemen. He doesn't do too many collabs, release mixtapes, or that many albums. Worst Fears Confirmed is his latest. He raps gangsta rap, probably the most stagnant sub-genre of rap. Somehow 2Pac and Biggie are reduced to 50 Cent and Akon, and the only famous good rapper is Lil fucking Wayne. It's a disingenuous state of affairs, so most people ignore the subgenre as a whole if they want to hear real progress as opposed to posturing.

All that being said there is still an appeal to posturing. It is just one that wears incredibly thin over time; see Pitchfork's recent spearing of Snoop Dogg's new record for talking about hardcore pimping. Pitchfork is stupid (Snoop Dogg...wasn't an artistic paragon and visionary???) but this mentality is what people are beginning to feel come off the genre lately.

But Worst Fears Confirmed is easily one of the most amazing rap albums ever, posturing included. The beats all sound like they are made by some cheesy 80s Phil Spector producer doing metal and sitcom soundtracks. And the lyrics...usually when I post these things, I write a lot of stuff about how the lyrics are deep and meaningful in some way. Perhaps it's a gyp not to do this with the first new one in a long while, but I can't say anything these lyrics don't, so I won't.

Quote
I rhyme like a nine hundred and ninety nine thou from bein rich
got ninety nine problems, and none of them bein bitch
so whats the ninety nine? Big dreamers with tiny minds
'tainin with robbin a nigga so I tuck a shiny nine

Quote
Growth is testicular
And I might need chemo
But y'all niggas emo
I'm deep sea diving in pussy till I'm finding Nemo
She know!

Quote

With slugs that travel through barrels with tunnel vision

Coca Cola Killer twist your shit
Leave prize under every cap

The crown don't move, whoever intend on grabbin it?
Is fightin fullblown AIDS with Flintstone tablets

That's from the first verse alone.

Vakill has such violent, misogynistic, homophobic, hatefilled lines. He's an angry guy. I think he's actually a member of the Chicago Crips. As a result...it's actually kind of RIDICULOUS. Like, I highlighted a few of the multi inrhymes he did and most of them rhyme two or three words in a line together. He's ridiculously skilled, but more importantly he's so fucking funny to listen to. I don't mean “lmao ironic rap”; I just mean that this shit is so ridiculously clever and offensive that you can appreciate it for what it is, which is insanely over the top!

I do want to restate that Vakill is horribly misogynistic. Don't play this for your girlfriend if she has any self worth unless you want them to rightfully think you're an insensitive dick. That being said, hopefully she can look past it, like I do, and appreciate how just ridiculous his whole...THING, really, is.

I couldn't even find vids of two of my favorite songs, Heart Bleeds which sounds like metal and Man Into Monster which sounds like it ripped the theme song from an 80s cop drama. Vakill is hilariously over the top, however unintentionally, and he's angry and bitter and he's so damn clever. I can't even say he's good, but goddam he is fun as fuck.

Why Doesn't GW Talk About This?

I could easily just say GW HATES RAP, but even if that wasn't the case, Vakill is relatively unknown and quiet. No one is talking about him. Anywhere. For good reason, honestly. Two albums, almost no mixtapes, still ain't done with his third. The Molemen themselves are lesser known than the fucking 9th Wonder collective we have locally. It's a shame but yeah, not surprising at all!

Why Would GW Like This?

Quote
I'm a beast in bed, check my dick head for triple sixes
I'll hit a fat ass from the back until it ripples vicious
Give titty nipples stitches
I'm a pimp, pussy fall in my lap like a strip club full of clumsy crippled bitches

in case you missed it.
