Over the decades, many have prophesized that the world will end when
the ancient Mayan calendar ceases on 21 December 2012. But before that
occurs, the human race is bound to face natural disasters such as massive
volcano eruptions, typhoons and other natural calamities. An academic
researcher opens a portal into a parallel universe and makes contact with
his double in order to prevent an apocalypse predicted by the ancient Mayans.

The movie was set to be released sometime in July this year but post
production logistics have got its release procrastinated to November 2009.
We are anticipating the teaser of 2012 with bated breath as there is far
too little to glue ourselves on at the moment.

this movie is going to be a huge CGI SFX wankfest. If you're lucky, you'll get the heartfelt family moments plus the touching romance thrown in there (think The Day After Tomorrow). Some obligatory scenes with the President ("THIS...CAN'T...BE HAPPENING!") and we'll call it a day.

The only thing this has going for it is John Cusack.

I love Independence Day, and The Day After Tomorrow was okay, but it's starting to become a tired formula.

I'm going to see this for the (hopefully) amazing special effects. Not expecting anything else.

Some movies just don't have the same impact when viewed outside of the theaters.
