haha, I wish that I was making emo-violence up, but it is the proper name for the style of screamo in the late 90's/early 2000's.
bands like:
saetia
la quiete
the death of anna korina
orchid
raein
joshua fit for battle
pg. 99
welcome to the plague year
jeromes dream
neil perry
i would set myself on fire for you
Pretty much this, its a silly name imo, I just use screamo, but I visit another forum and they get pretty nit-picky with their genres, its were I first heard emo-violence. Its also were I heard about Crust Punk, Metallic Hardcore (which is pretty much old school metalcore), Power Violence, etc etc.
And for you curious folks
Modern Metalcore (I personally don't like most of the bands I'm about to list here, but they're an accurate representation of the modern metalcore scene that "big" right now. Some aint bad though, but thats just my opinion)
As I lay DyignKillswitch EngageAtreyuAvengened Sevenfold (old)August Burns RedHaste the DayOh, SleeperThe Human AbstractThe Devil Wears PradaStill RemainsArchitects <-(Personal fave of the modern scene)
Darkest HourDead To FallAll That RemainsI kid you not 90% of the bands on this list play in Drop C, thus resulting in the very VERY similar sounding songs.
Uh... "Original" Metalcore, sometimes referred to as "True" metalcore (Its all metalcore to me)Hopesfall (iffy on this one)
Earth Crisis (also labeled Straight Edge Hardcore)
IntegrityCoalesce7 Angels 7 PlaguesShai HuludBotch (Also regarded as the pioneers of mathcore)
ConvergePrayer For Cleansing (BTBAM's old band)
(old)Cave InIts kinda late and I can't really think of more bands, Smoothy, feel free to add.
